Contract to Hire

A little about the gig:

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Cybersecurity Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect Principal to fill an open position with one of our banking clients. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert in designing and supporting IAM solutions for a large-scale enterprise environment. The role combines architecture, technical leadership, and research to deliver secure, scalable identity and access controls across critical applications. This position offers the chance to influence enterprise standards, shape IAM strategy, and partner with senior leaders to safeguard the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the IAM subject-matter expert in cross-functional architecture and engineering meetings, providing clear guidance on identity, access, SSO, federation, and security design.

• Review and critique architecture diagrams and solution designs, identifying risks (e.g., encryption gaps) and recommending secure patterns and changes.

• Advise and influence teams across the enterprise—Cloud, Network, Data Protection, AI—while navigating politics and representing IAM in major initiatives and mergers.

• Support a Ping Identity migration at the architectural level, guiding strategy, validating design decisions, and ensuring alignment to IAM standards (no hands-on work).

• Operate independently to produce IAM standards, patterns, and position papers, researching unfamiliar technologies quickly and forming expert, well-reasoned opinions.

The Ideal Candidate:

Solid IAM fundamentals: SSO, MFA, RBAC, federation (SAML, OAuth), identity lifecycle, and privileged access management (Ping, Okta, Delinea, CyberArk).

Technical reasoning ability: Can understand architecture diagrams, identify security flaws, and reason through IAM problems without hands-on coding.

Enterprise experience: Comfortable in large-scale, regulated environments, including financial institutions or similarly complex organizations.

Consultative communication & influence: Able to advise engineers, architects, and executives; can explain complex concepts clearly and concisely; politically savvy.

Independent operator: Works autonomously with minimal oversight, sets priorities, and manages their own workload.

Problem-solving under ambiguity: Quickly researches unfamiliar tools or scenarios and forms well-reasoned expert opinions.

CISSP-level knowledge: Understanding of encryption (in transit/at rest), secure design principles, and IAM best practices (certification not required).
