Join our healthcare team in Fredericksburg—a vibrant city known for its rich history, beautiful parks, and welcoming community—making it an ideal location for travel nurses seeking rewarding healthcare jobs in Virginia.\n\n\nTravel Nursing Job Details\n\n Job Title: SICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract\n Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (Virginia nursing jobs)\n Contract Type: Travel Nursing\n Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/6/2026 – End: 4/7/2026)\n Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)\n Total Hours: 36 per week\n Unit: SICU (38 beds, mixed MICU/SICU/CVICU)\n Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 in SICU; may float to stepdown (1:3-4)\n Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n Charting System: Epic\n Scrub Color: Navy Blue\n Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1870 per week\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in VA)\n Minimum 2 years of recent SICU or ICU experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)\n Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS\n CRRT experience mandatory; experience with IABP, Impella, Prismax, or EVD Drain preferred\n Level II Trauma Center experience preferred\n Community hospital experience required\n Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs\n Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n Completion of up to 8 hours of onboarding modules prior to start\n Travel pairs not permitted on this unit\n\n\nSICU RN Responsibilities\n\n Provide expert care to trauma, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and complex surgical patients\n Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial lines, and blood product administration\n Care for patients with acute ventilator needs, COVID+ with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, code blue, multi-system organ failure, and CRRT\n Utilize advanced equipment: Swan catheters, balloon pumps, Impella, CRRT Prismaflex, ventilators, and more\n Assist with bedside procedures: chest tube insertions/removals, EGDs, bronchoscopies, central line placements\n Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams\n Maintain infection prevention standards and isolation precautions\n Document patient care using Epic charting system\n\n\n \n Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
