Description:
The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services in behavioral healthcare.
They apply knowledge and techniques relevant to health and illness for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Within their scope of practice, they perform psychosocial interventions with clients.
They conduct individual, family, or group interventions, including counseling and education.
The provider develops intervention goals and objectives that aim to educate and resolve client's issues.
They participate in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment goals and objectives.
Interviews with clients and families are conducted to establish case goals and objectives.
The provider assesses clients and determines specific intervention techniques while monitoring client responses to treatment.
Feedback on the effectiveness of prescribed treatment is provided.
The provider evaluates lower-level cases and client progress from prescribed treatment plans.
They maintain necessary documentation to meet federal, state, and local agency requirements.
Preparation of social histories, admission summaries, court documents, and other required forms is essential.
The provider serves on treatment teams and engages in program development activities.
Attendance at training, interdepartmental meetings, and court hearings is required.
They establish and maintain working relationships with facilities, agencies, and support services for coordinated referrals and follow-up services.
Knowledge of departmental policies, regulations, and counseling techniques is critical.
The ability to counsel on sensitive matters and recognize unusual conditions is important.

Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II or
Licensed Professional Counselor or
Licensed Social Worker or
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist or
Licensed Registered Nurse with a master's degree in a mental health-related field or
Licensed Registered Nurse with psychiatric nursing concentration or
Licensed Registered Nurse with a Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing specialty certificate.
Continuing professional education for license renewal is required to maintain classification after employment.
