SUMMARY: The Inbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the inbound receiving department. This role ensures that all incoming shipments are received, inspected, and processed efficiently, safely, and accurately to support inventory control and timely order fulfillment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the inbound team to ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods.
• Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties.
• Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and shipping standards.
• Monitor staffing levels and delegate tasks to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Partner with Inventory Control and Purchasing to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve inbound processes.
• Train and coach team members on proper receiving techniques and company expectations.
• Use WMS (Warehouse Management System) and other systems to track inbound shipments and update records.
• Conduct regular audits of inbound processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., transportation, outbound, quality) to streamline operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong understanding of inventory systems and logistics processes.
• Experience with WMS or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse setting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with desire to continuous improvement
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
