Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least two years of large OR experience and the ability to scrub for a day shift assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in the operating room within a hospital setting
Patient population includes cases involving ortho, EENT, and vascular procedures
Day shifts with options for 8- or 10-hour shifts, finalized during interview
On-call and weekend requirements will be discussed during the interview
Floating may be required between departments or local locations within 20 miles
Epic EMR experience preferred but not required; on-site training is available
Provide perioperative nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation
Coordinate with the patient, family, and healthcare team to ensure effective and patient-centered care
Responsible for the supervision of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel
Completion of unit-specific education and competency testing is required
Passing basic cardiac arrhythmia testing during orientation is necessary for continued employment
First time travelers will not be considered for this assignment
Scrub color or attire will follow facility requirements
Requirements
Active RN license from New Mexico or a Compact State
Minimum of two years of current experience in a large operating room
Ability to perform scrub duties is required
Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross is required
ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
No local candidates allowed; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Returning former perm staff must wait one year before being reconsidered
