Responsible for the inspection of incoming, processed, and out-going products including verification of conformance with steel industry and customer specifications.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Performs and records visual and dimensional inspections.

• Interprets blueprints for inspection processes i.e. inspection plans.

• Assist with quality training in inspection equipment, policies and procedures.

• Read and log data through Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

• Assist Operations Manager in investigations of process related to quality issues.

• Write non-Conforming Material Reports when required and quarantining products that have been rejected by QA.

• Provides samples and communication to QA concerning quality issues when required.

• Assist Quality Engineer with ISIR, PPAP, and capability studies.

• Ability to Support ISO 9001:2015 practices and procedures across workforce.

• Completes accurate records (on paper and electronic data) to provide excellent results of data requested.

• Organizes work and storage areas for efficient workflow and to showcase the quality of work.

• Support inventory accuracy. Reporting non-conforming to supervisors.

• Work with purchasing on mill returns/credits.

• Work with Operations Manager on customer returns on material dispositions.

• Review all cut orders and attach prints and inspection sheets.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both.

• Ability to read and understand documents such as work orders and blueprints.

• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

• Effective written and oral communication.

• Must be able to identify inspections errors, report nonconformance, and initiate resolution.

• Knowledge of quality procedures, processes and auditing techniques

• Knowledge of company product lines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
