About the Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer – Instrumentation & Control (I&C) to join the delivery team for the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project. This role will support the design, implementation, and commissioning of I&C systems for a major water infrastructure project, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project objectives.

The position requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.

Project Delivery

Assist in the design and implementation of I&C systems for desalination and water treatment facilities.

Prepare and review instrumentation data sheets, loop diagrams, and control narratives.

Support integration of instrumentation into PLC and SCADA systems.

Validate control sequences and ensure accurate data acquisition and reliable control logic.

Monitor compliance with technical specifications, project milestones, and Australian Standards.

Design & Documentation

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure constructability and alignment with project objectives.

Contribute to technical documentation and assist in resolving design issues.

Ensure accurate instrumentation data modelling.

Procurement & Coordination

Assist in defining I&C scopes and technical requirements for procurement.

Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams (civil, process, electrical, automation) to ensure seamless delivery.

Commissioning & Support

Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to instrumentation and control systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, or related discipline.

Experience in I&C engineering within water infrastructure or industrial projects (water sector experience desirable).

Knowledge of PLC, SCADA systems, and instrumentation standards.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
