Assistant Director of Housing Operations
Position Purpose
The Assistant Director of Housing Operations is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive housing program including planning, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of housing operations. This includes creating and maintaining processes and projects related to the application process, assignments, and billing for academic year, break period, and summer housing/conference housing. In addition, the Assistant Director of Housing Operations is part of the leadership team of the Residential Life and Housing department and assists with the overall management and direction of the residential experience at NEC.
Essential Duties Summary
Communicate, explain, and direct all aspects of housing operations, policies, and procedures including but not limited to housing and meal plan contracts, housing selection, and billing for all academic terms and summer sessions for internal and external constituencies. Develop methods for ongoing communication with parents and residential students.
Submit weekly room and board reports, maintain waitlists and other housing-related data.
Use the College's technology including but not limited to Leadsquared, Banner, Argos, Navigate, and NDE lock system, to coordinate a seamless housing experience from student date of inquiry to date of separation from the College.
Oversee and direct residence hall opening/closing operations in conjunction with the Area Coordinators, Campus Safety, Facilities, and Information Technology.
Serve as a liaison between Residential Life and various campus partners including Admissions, Advising, Wellness, Campus Safety, Facilities, Student Financial Services, and IT/Boldyn.
Coordinate the assignments related to approved disability/medical accommodations in partnership with the Office of Disability Services.
Oversee the activities related to marketing and promotion of Residential Life and Housing including updating publications and online materials including accurate floor plans.
Coordinate with Area Coordinators regarding room/roommate changes and student withdrawal from housing processes.
Create departmental requisitions as needed.
Work to advance the Office of Residential Life and Housing's goals through ongoing assessment efforts. Research and implement best housing practices. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or business or related field required
Excellent customer service skills via email, phone, and in person
Strong interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to utilize Office 365 products, Banner, Argos reports, Vytal, EMS, Xhibit, and NDE lock system
Strong organizational skills; ability to focus on more than one task at a time Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
2-4 years' experience in a Residential Life Office preferred
