POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for imagining, developing, and validating mechanical systems and hardware used in demanding aerospace-level environments. The engineer in this position will guide design initiatives from concept to release and play a major role in supporting technical input for new business pursuits.

Serve as a lead contributor within the mechanical engineering group, providing direction on major design efforts.
Develop mechanical systems, structural components, mechanisms, and assemblies that meet strict performance and customer requirements.
Produce detailed 2D layouts and 3D models to support concept development and engineering documentation.
Conduct engineering calculations, stress evaluations, and performance assessments to ensure system reliability and compliance.
Review and validate analysis work produced by other engineers.
Oversee subsystem and system-level design activities from initial concept through final delivery.
Prepare and maintain documentation such as requirements, verification plans, test procedures, and compliance records.
Evaluate designs for manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and quality considerations.
Generate drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications aligned with applicable industry standards.
Support production, testing, and integration teams throughout build and delivery phases.
Assist with technical inputs for proposals and customer briefings.
Participate in laboratory and field testing of engineered components.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline - equivalent experience considered.
Typically 4-7 years of experience in the aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability engineering fields.
Broad understanding of mechanical engineering technologies and system-level design principles.
Demonstrated success in leading the design of complex mechanical hardware.
Familiarity with both commercial and defense-oriented design standards.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and working knowledge of GD&T.
Experience with CAD/CAE tools used for mechanical and structural analysis.
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
