Job Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in delivering patient care.
Responsibilities include carrying out prescribed treatment programs, maintaining accurate patient documentation, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards such as Medicare and OSHA.
PTAs are responsible for communicating patient progress, preparing treatment areas and equipment, and ensuring compliance with facility policies.
Additionally, they meet productivity goals, participate in team meetings and clinical in-services, and complete ongoing education. The role requires physical strength to lift patients and equipment, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Required Credentials:
Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
Current state license/registration/certification as a PTA.
CPR certification. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
