Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking a Mid-level Systems Engineer to be the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer (CIAT) team Risk Reduction System Engineer (Aegis AWS Baseline 9.C2.4 Integration and Test) (General Associate) in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) for the Integrated Combat Systems (V) Department, Warfare Architecture & Engineering division (V10) and Systems of Systems Engineering branch (V11). The Job location is Dahlgren, King George, VA. This position is on-site with limited remote work.
Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret clearance level.
The CIAT Risk Reduction System Engineer provides expertise in the integration and test of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS) Baseline 9.C2.4 (CP24) within the CIAT environment. A key aspect of this role is evaluating and down-selecting between two simulator/stimulator options:
(1) CS3 Hybrid approach integrating NGS functionality into the Oasis framework
(2) Maintaining Next Generation Simulator (NGS) and Oasis on separate frameworks
This evaluation will be based on a common set of CIAT requirements. The successful candidate will then focus on early development, integration, and testing activities, ensuring seamless integration of the selected AWS/simulator configuration with other CIAT components and the delivery of a high-fidelity training experience. This role requires a strong understanding of Aegis systems, test and evaluation methodologies, and simulation technologies, coupled with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Success for working in this position requires:
Strong understanding of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS), particularly Baseline 9.C2.4 (CP24).
Experience with test and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, procedures, and scripts.
Familiarity with simulation and stimulation technologies, particularly CS3, NGS, and Oasis.
Ability to analyze test data, identify discrepancies, and document results.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping skills to accurately track, analyze, and differentiate test results between the CS3 Hybrid and separate NGS/Oasis simulator/stimulator options.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position requires 80% on-site presence within a classified environment.
Education and Experience:
Seven (7) years of general experience as defined above. Five (5) years of specific experience.
Specialized experience in conducting detailed, complex engineering activities associated with engineering systems, capabilities, and activities. Demonstrated experience with functional and system-level requirements analysis, requirements generation, and technical community review. Demonstrated experience with system engineering design, performance, analysis, and operational experience for military applications. Demonstrated experience in the development of system engineering, including the definition, functional allocation, design development, testing, integration, and operational performance.
