SummaryThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all aspects for maintenance with suppliers, local and corporate-wide employees and the manufacturing staff. The incumbent is also responsible for the supervising, training and mentoring members of the Maintenance department with a strong focus on communication, continuous improvement and follow through. This position exists to ensure the production equipment is properly maintained in order to produce and package all products according to customer specifications and food safety policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the plant's machinery preventive maintenance plan preparation, implementation and follow through
• Utilities operation management (steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration, wastewater, HVAC)
• Manage maintenance processes and systems. Implement maintenance procedures resulting in an increase is maintenance effectiveness.
• Organize and coach maintenance team and technical team activities including coaching and mentoring a team across 3 shifts of operation
• Manage the Spare parts inventory accuracy, allocation and documentation processes
• Build and manage vendor relationships with technical material suppliers (quotations, works, and contracts
• Preparing, monitoring and managing maintenance department budget
• Create monitor and drive completion on departmental actions and project work
• Prepare and implement technical instructions and procedures in line with legislation and internal rules. Manage the technical documentation related to maintenance activities including reports, records, manuals, certificates
• Responsibility for implementation and follow up on Safety procedures as it relates to safe operation of equipment
• Manage overall LOTO program and training
• Prepare and follow up with department training plan in line with company needs.
• Department KPIs indicators monitoring, managing and reporting on a daily and weekly basis
• Participate in daily operational forums, huddles, escalation meetings and staff meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business/technical-related field is preferred.
Five (5) or more years of related work experience, experience managing and leading a Maintenance department across multiple shifts in the food industry required.
Experience working with large commercial equipment, tanks, pumps, motors, valves, sensors, piping
Experience driving CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) required with focus on trends and root cause analysis
PLC working knowledge
Experience with automation projects, line improvement projects
Experience with facility maintenance required
Exposure with and understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and methods
Management experience with reliability initiatives
Experience with root cause, predictive actions, and preventative actions.
Time management skills with a high focus on multi-tasking and execution
Basic electrical & HVAC beneficial but not required
