DEFINITION:
The Physical Therapy Aide is a non-licensed worker who is trained under the direction of a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. The Aide performs designated routine tasks related to enhancing the efficiency of clinical operations. The PT Aide provides support that may include patient-related and non-patient related duties and functions only with the continuous on-site supervision of the PT/OT or PTA. Continuous on-site supervision requires the presence of the physical therapist or therapist assistant in the immediate area.
This is a safety sensitive position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or GED. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Physical Therapy Technician training program or completion of one semester or an accredited P.T. or P.T.A. program preferred. Experience in either acute care hospital or outpatient orthopedics.
