Part-Time Riding Instructor Position

Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls’ boarding and day school for grades 7-12, seeks an instructor to join the staff at the SBS Equestrian Center.

Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (University of Massachusetts and Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst Colleges), Stoneleigh-Burnham School is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world. Our mission centers around helping our students discover and use their authentic voices.

We are looking to hire a part-time riding instructor with experience in Dressage, Hunt Seat Equitation, and Eventing. Candidates should have a strong teaching background and be comfortable working with riders of varying levels. Candidates should also have a Massachusetts Riding Instructors License.

Qualifications:

Solid background in Dressage, Hunt Seat Equitation, and Eventing

Experience teaching riders from beginner to advanced

Familiarity with Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) format strongly preferred

Excellent communication skills and a positive, supportive teaching style

Ability to work collaboratively with equestrian staff and contribute to a team environment

Responsibilities:

Teach group and private lessons in multiple disciplines

Support riders in their recreational and competitive goals

Help maintain a safe, educational, and fun environment for riders and horses

CORI/SORI checks required
