Instructional Aides must have graduated from high school or hold a GED .
Must have the ability to learn the operation of equipment, technology.
REPORTS TO: School Principal and / or Program Directors and Teachers
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly
functioning clean environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Making instructional materials and aids.
Escorting children to and from lunchroom and help with lunchroom duties.
Errands and other miscellaneous chores.
Typing master copies, tests and reports. Keeping records of dues, fees and sell school supplies.
Requesting and distributing of supplies.
Helping with library duties.
Keeping lab orderly and clean.
Making posters and bulletin boards that follow class projects.
Gathering hands-on materials that go with project or lessons that carry over to regular classroom.
Trouble shooting minor repairs of computer equipment.
Talk with teachers and integrate lab with classroom under direct supervision of regular classroom teacher
Research software to go with projects and classroom instruction.
Load programs on hard drives when necessary and appropriate.
Lifting and moving materials.
Assisting special needs students with accommodations (includes but not limited to health issues, self-help, transporting, lifting).
Under the direct supervision of the teacher in the classroom environment, may work with small groups of students on teacher-directed activities.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which might include principal, program director, teacher or Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work day to be determined by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
