Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current certification or multistate certification privilege to practice as a certified Paramedic in the Commonwealth without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice.
VA EMS Education Coordinator for initial EMT Instruction.
Minimum of Associate's Degree in Paramedic and/or Bachelor's degree in related field.
Possess valid Driver's License in Commonwealth of Virginia Additional Considerations:
Minimum two (2) years of recent teaching experience in EMS Education.
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings, including course development, student assessment, course evaluations and advising.
Education to include principles of teaching and learning. Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional responsibilities (multimedia, flipped classroom teaching strategies, and test construction).
Demonstrated understanding of concept-based teaching principles.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations in an urban setting.
VA EMS Education Coordinator, BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS & PHTLS Instructor.
Post-secondary teaching experience.
Possess working knowledge of the VA Emergency Medical Services, Richmond Metro Hospitals, and Public Safety community within Richmond City and surrounding counties.
