Key Responsibilities of the Travel Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

• Provide direct care to laboring and postpartum patients, including monitoring maternal and fetal status.

• Assist with deliveries, perform postpartum assessments, and support breastfeeding and newborn care.

• Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management interventions safely.

• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with hospital and OB unit standards.

• Promote patient safety and provide evidence-based labor and delivery nursing care.

Requirements for the Travel Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery Role

• Active Tennessee RN license or eligibility.

• Current BLS and NRP certifications.

• Minimum of 2+ years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience; OB or postpartum background is a plus.

• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
