The Manager Support Services provides the necessary guidance to staff within the unit to support their roles as per the collective agreements. This includes but is not limited to, scheduling work hours, monitoring leave of absence requests, confirming timesheets, completing staff assessments, providing support to staff to ensure they have opportunities to develop as employees, and facilitating conflict resolution and disciplinary investigations when necessary.
Duties:
Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports including Supervisors in Housekeeping and Staffing and Timekeeping
Provide guidance in work scheduling, equipment purchases, and supply management
Is the direct supervisor for the Clerk 8 Supervisor position within Staffing and Timekeeping.
Communicate effectively with employees, other departments, outside agencies, and clients
Gather feedback from staff and clients
Adhere to provincial tenders
Order housekeeping supplies using Oracle
Ensure adequate staffing while following the Union Contract
Complete and post schedules for all employees within the department
Ensure reporting roles are filled during short and long term absences. This is to ensure important deadlines for payroll or accounts payables are not missed.
Keep current on new products and services within the industry
Coordinate cleaning and sanitization of food service kitchens, staff room kitchenettes, and common kitchens.
Maintain a culture of safety within the organization, including support for patient safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
Completion of the Environmental Services course
Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered
Management experience in acute care or long-term care setting, including responsibility for financial and human resources management
Considerable experience in Support Services
Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and team building skills
Ability to be extremely organized, self-motivated, flexible and maintain a positive attitude
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
A good previous work and attendance record
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
Other Qualifications:
Leadership Training would be an asset
Experience using Schedule Anywhere and Peoplesoft is considered an asset
Knowledge of the PEI Health would be an asset
Understanding of Infection Control would be considered an asset
Labour Relations Training would be an asset

Salary Range: $34.47 - $43.08 per hour (Level 17 – Excluded)
