TT Electronics’ Bedlington facility north of Newcastle upon Tyne is the home of two TT Electronics divisions; Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Sensors & Specialist Components are leaders in high reliability, high performance and engineered electronic components. Power Electronics provide custom power solutions for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. The team in Bedlington specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As the Supply Chain Manager at TT Electronics, Bedlington, you will be responsible for the management and development of the supply chain strategic plan, along with the day-to-day management of the purchasing, planning and movement of goods departments.

Key Responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning and Supply Chain Optimisation:

Developing and implementing supply chain strategies, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Leading accountability for inventory planning.

Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP):

Overseeing the SIOP process to align demand with production capacity, inventory management, and procurement.

Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure optimal supply-demand balance.

Analysing market trends, customer demand, and supply constraints to drive decision-making.

Master Scheduling & Production Planning:

Developing and maintaining a robust master production schedule that optimises capacity, labour, and materials.

Working closely with manufacturing to ensure smooth production flow while minimising bottlenecks.

Monitoring schedule adherence and adjusting production plans proactively in response to demand and supply chain fluctuations.

Inventory Management:

Overseeing inventory policies, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimising excess.

Managing slow moving and shelf life controlled materials.

Supplier Development & Collaboration:

Developing and driving cost saving initiatives throughout the supply chain.

Managing relationships with key suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.

Leading contract negotiations.

Legal compliance:

Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate legal compliance, for example, but not limited to. ROHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, ITAR.

Ensuring compliance with requirements for import and export movement of goods.

Personnel Procedures:

Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), inventory turns, and schedule adherence.

Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, quality standards and company policies.

Fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements, Skills and Experience:

Degree qualified in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Management or similar.

Experience managing a busy supply chain function, dealing with customers and suppliers at all levels.

Experience managing a busy shipping department with a high degree of knowledge of import / export compliance procedures.

Able to understand and meet the needs of customers, both internal and external.

A data focussed, logical decision making approach, applying business insights and opportunities in a structured manner.

A high level of understanding of commercial law of contract.

Excellent negotiation skills with proven track record of cost reduction.

An inspirational and motivational leader, able to navigate, manage and, where appropriate, effect change.

Able to communicate ideas to others clearly, with a confident and open demeanour, respecting other points of view.

A strategic thinker with an innovative approach to problem solving.

Knowledge of ITAR & compliance with Aerospace & Defence industries.

ERP proficient.

There may be the need for national and possible international travel so candidates will be required to be flexible.
