Job Description

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Caregivers at Senior Helpers of Castle Rock & Parker support seniors with personal care, companionship, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and light home tasks that promote independence and quality of life. You’ll be part of a trusted team that values compassion, consistency, and creating positive experiences for every client we serve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Assist with personal care activities including:

Baths (sponge, tub, shower, and bed bath)

Hygiene assistance (mouth care, hair care, lotion, electric shave only)

Basic skin care and foot care

Toileting

Transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, and shower, etc.)

Dressing and undressing

Change diaper/brief

Ambulation

Medication assistance/reminder

Assist with household tasks necessary to the client’s health care needs, including:

Planning and preparing nutritious meals

Assisting in feeding client, as appropriate

Light housekeeping of client’s environment, including linens and making the bed

Laundering client’s clothing and bedding, including ironing

Assisting clients with errands, transportation, shopping, and mail sorting

Use equipment and supplies safely.

Engage with clients in conversation, hobbies, activities, board games, and other types of proper activities for the client.

Pet walking and assistance

Monitor, observe, and encourage range of motion exercises and other procedures as instructed by any professional staff.

Maintain a written log with receipts of all client money used to purchase goods or materials for the client’s care.

Report any changes in client’s condition to the Supervisor.

Document care provided consistent with agency requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

A demonstrated ability to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and supervisors.

Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control.

Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal and written communication.

Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity, and honesty.

Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.

Ability to communicate with clients and to remain calm under stress.

Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace.

Ability to work autonomously and understand when a superior needs to be involved in decision-making.

Good decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solution to solve problems or challenges.

Self-motivated, with a dedication to keeping up to date technically.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet CO state requirements for care giving services

Must have a valid and current state driver’s license and insurance.

Must have safe and reliable transportation to go to and from the client’s location and/or facilities, and have a vehicle available during assignments in order to assist clients with shopping needs if required.

Must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to successfully complete required, paid training

BENEFITS

Gross hourly range of $19 - $23, based on experience

Paid orientation and ongoing training

Able to lift, move, and assist clients. If you feel you cannot safely lift the client, please notify the office immediately.

Ability to safely assist clients in and out of a vehicle and safely lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50lbs into and out of a vehicle.

Able to communicate with others to accurately exchange information.

Able to operate office equipment such as a computer, phone, etc.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.

Able to perform tasks such as lifting, light housekeeping, walking, and driving.
