Experience Required
Properly identify and prepare the patient and explain procedures. Maintains patient privacy during testing.
Electronically submits prescriptions, obtains pre-authorization for medications and makes other patient calls as directed by physician.
Triage phone calls from patients/families and other healthcare providers and collaborates with physician/provider regarding plan of care. Educate patient/family on recommended treatments changes.
Performs other administrative duties, i.e. scanning, pre-loading, typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc. as requested by supervisor or physician. Maintains patient’s medical record in proper order based on established office protocol.
Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
Assists with delegated patient education activities including but not limited to distributing education literature, etc.
Performs chart review the previous day ensuring all necessary patient records, supplies, equipment and pre-authorizations are available as required by physician prior to the appointment.
Education Requirements
Graduate from an accredited program for Nursing
License/Certification Requirements
Active licensure in Nursing (RN) for the State of New Jersey
Current CPR certification required
Special Requirements
Complies with all aspects of regulatory readiness. To include the CDC and State standards.
Ability to communicate to the office manager and/or physician, problems associated with patient, procedure.
Ability to adhere to the departmental policy on critical values, performing proper notification and documentation.
Ability to navigate through an electronic medical record including documentation of patient/family education, editing orders and billing
