Description
The Environmental Services (EVS) Lead Technician provides hands-on cleaning and disinfection services while offering support to daily EVS operations. This role performs all standard EVS duties and simultaneously helps coordinate workflow, ensure quality standards are met, and provide daily oversight of cleaning and disinfection activities.
Job Duties:
Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements for proper chemical and equipment usage.
Serve as the on-shift point of contact for EVS Technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
Assist with daily assignments and coverage for all departments.
Support training of new EVS staff in cleaning procedures, chemical use, PPE, and hospital protocols.
Verify proper cleaning and disinfection throughout the hospital; monitor and reinforce correct use of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
Support daily hospital needs and requests.
Maintain inventory of EVS supplies
Oversee linen distribution and ensure adequate stock is maintained for patient census.
Requirements
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Three years Environmental Services experience
Basic Computer skills (email, rounding tools, work-order system)
Preferred:
Healthcare Environmental Services experience
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or other trainer designation
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hour shifts
