Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer/Super Job Description We are seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer to oversee safety and health management on construction projects at military installations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in military/base construction, safety management, and project oversight.
Responsibilities + Manage and oversee construction projects on Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal/military installations.
+ Ensure compliance with base access requirements, security protocols, and military construction standards.
+ Supervise subcontractors and manage scheduling, quality control, and day-to-day field operations.
+ Implement and maintain safety programs in accordance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 (USACE Safety & Health Requirements Manual) or other relevant military/federal safety regulations.
+ Oversee typical base construction scopes, including building renovation, civil/site work, interior finishes, and mechanical/electrical trades.
+ Communicate effectively with client representatives, subcontractors, and office staff.
+ Adapt to evolving site conditions and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills + Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects on DoD or other federal/military installations.
+ OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
+ Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 Safety Training or equivalent USACE/DoD construction safety training.
+ Proficiency in Procore or other construction software for documentation, submittals, RFIs, and daily reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications + CPR/First Aid certification (recommended). + Flagger, Forklift, or other relevant trade certifications if handling equipment or traffic control on site.
+ Strong organizational skills to manage dual responsibilities without compromising quality or safety.
Work Environment The role is based on-site at Kings Bay, specifically focusing on the demolition and replacement of existing flooring in 14 of the barracks.
The environment demands adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards while maintaining effective communication and coordination with all project stakeholders.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kings Bay Base, GA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
