Applications for the Attendant position at Three Oaks Recreation Area are currently being accepted. Three Oaks' regular season runs from early April through October.

Applicant must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire.

This is a seasonal position. Hours of work are of course weather dependent, however it is our goal to schedule all employees 20-30 hours of work per week, generally in 6-7 hour shifts.

Please note that all employees are required to work a portion of the holiday weekends, which include Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Example of Essential Duties

Attendants are responsible for assisting patrons at the Three Oaks Recreation Area through duties related to the entrances at the parking gate and swim beach, supporting the scuba zone operations, and all boat rental aspects in the marina. Depending on the rotation, Attendants will provide customer service through the process of collecting user fees, disseminating site-specific information, park readiness and cleanliness, and providing patrons with boat rental and safety protocol.

Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Experience in a cash handling retail or customer service position and/or a background of operating watercraft are preferred.

Attendants are required to successfully complete the City-provided CPR, AED and Basic First Aid certification classes within 30 days of employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with the appropriate assistance of proper equipment or team lifting techniques, in accordance with city safety protocol. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position will regularly work in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
