As a Plating Technician at RAM Aviation, Space & Defense, you play a critical role in protecting and enhancing the performance of mission-critical aerospace components. Using electrolytic processes and specialized coatings like nickel and cadmium, you'll prepare and finish metal surfaces to meet exacting industry standards for durability, corrosion resistance, and reliability. Your attention to detail ensures that every part meets strict quality and safety requirements before it enters service in aircraft, satellites, or defense systems. From inspecting surfaces and preparing parts to monitoring chemical baths and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, your work directly supports the integrity and longevity of the products we deliver. This is a hands-on role where precision, safety, and craftsmanship come together to make a lasting impact.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and productive work area.

Inspect incoming product surfaces in-order-to detect product deformities or surface conditions that would be problematic to the plating process.

String/rack/hang products in preparation for the coating processes.

Immerse products to be coated or plated into liquid solutions according to specified processing steps.

Set up, operate, or tend cleaning and plating solutions.

Position and feed product into processing tanks by hand and agitate as required.

Test chemical properties of the baths for accuracy to specifications and ensure that all tools and equipment is in proper working order and condition.

Maintain accurate production documentation.

Handle and transport acids and other hazardous chemicals.

Process solution waste to comply with regulations prior to disposal.
