MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

$24.00 - $30.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design and develop tooling, molds, fixtures, and components to support production operations.

Collaborate with production and management teams to design customer tooling and components using SolidWorks CAD software.

Provide technical input and design expertise during project estimation phases to assist sales, estimating, and production teams.

Create, revise, and maintain accurate engineering drawings and documentation for molds, parts, fixtures, and assemblies.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability in manufacturing operations.

Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to tooling and manufacturing processes.

Ensure all designs adhere to company standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, tooling, or molding environment preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software (required).

Knowledge of plastic materials, molding processes, and tooling design principles (preferred).

Familiarity with mold design, construction, and maintenance is a plus.

Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and design control.

Experience with root cause analysis and tools such as DOE, 5 Whys, FMEA, or DFMEA beneficial.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
