Duration: 13-week contract
Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2050-$2100
Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
Unit Beds: 13
Daily Census: 10
Weekend Coverage: Required
Orientation: 36 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (high-risk obstetrics preferred)
Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required)
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
C-EFM or AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
EPIC charting experience required
IV start and Labor & Delivery clinical skills required
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including high-risk obstetric cases
Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and high-risk interventions
Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment
Administer medications (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium sulfate) and manage IVs and central lines
Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers
Conduct antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments and interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social services
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
Float to other nursing units as required to meet patient care needs
Participate in patient triage, emergency response, and rapid response situations
