Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Administers language acquisition and proficiency assessments to students whose primary home language is not English; determines eligibility for ESL programming.
• Instructs students in grades Pre-K through 12 in English language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, and comprehension).
• Prepares lesson materials, activities, and audio-visual aids to support instruction.
• Assists students with content-area subjects and completion of classroom assignments as needed.
• Monitors, assesses, and records student progress in language proficiency.
• Maintains individual files for each identified English Language Learner, including work samples and assessment records.
• Participates in PCCR conferences as requested by the principal.
• Conducts home visits as needed to communicate with parents and coordinate district services.
• Monitors ESL students in mainstream classrooms and collaborates closely with classroom teachers.
• Attends District Alternative Language Services (ALS) meetings and professional development activities.
• Coordinates ALS services with other programs such as Special Education, Title I, and Literacy.
• Prepares and maintains records for audits by school, district, state, and federal officials.
• Assists the District ALS Director with special projects, grants, materials acquisition, and supply ordering.

• Year 1: $18.59/hour
• Year 2: $20.93/hour
• Year 3: $23.53/hour
