The Role
We are seeking a Chef de Partie to join the team. The selected candidate will play an active role in the kitchens daily operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes and maintaining the organizations standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring timely and consistent food preparation.
Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Maintain high presentation standards and consistency in all dishes served.
Manage inventory levels for your section, including ordering, restocking, and proper ingredient storage.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of your section, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate effectively with other kitchen sections and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Monitor food costs and portion control within your section to minimize waste and support budget goals.
Strictly follow food hygiene standards and ensure proper implementation of allergen procedures.
Conduct regular quality checks before service to ensure all dishes meet required standards.
Oversee your section during peak service periods, managing workflow efficiently.
Support and mentor Commis Chefs to maintain quality and consistency.
Complete all required online training within two weeks of the start date.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
Solid knowledge of food preparation, diverse dishes, and cooking methods.
Sound understanding of authentic and substitute ingredients.
Holder of a valid food handler licence.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Passion for food, innovation, and attention to detail.
Willingness to work on a shift basis in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
In possession of a valid Skills Pass.
