Seasoned marketing communications / public relations professional with corporate as well as local community development and preferably not-for-profit experience in strategic planning, branding and media relations. Must be able to execute tasks to achieve front-page results in media while driving local and regional messaging to diverse media outlets from TV to print and radio to social.
Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office Professional applications, mobile apps, and social media outlets.
Solid relationship-building skills with a network of connections to local and regional media outlets.
Established people management and interpersonal relationship-building skills with the ability to publicly speak and present comfortably.
Experience with graphics and print.
Must be flexible regarding job responsibilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with constantly changing work demands.
Excellent written, grammatical and oral communication skills.
Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously as well as manage people to effectively motivate and produce quality results.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
Supervise the day-to-day execution of media relations and marketing for the Organization's comprehensive communications team supporting membership services, programs, economic development and public policy departments as clients of the Organization’s in-house marketing organization.
Serve as publicist for the President and CEO of the organization.
Drive messaging and media relations that yield continual inclusion of the Organization's position in all major Metro outlets.
Lead marketing efforts that support membership recruitment, public policy advocacy of issues relevant to business.
Be willing and able – with strategic connections – to moderate and or speak as an expert in the marketing and public relations field as called upon to do so within the countless number of organizations affiliated with our organization.
Lead the social media efforts of the Organization to comprehensively build awareness online of the organization’s product offering.
Place media with various different outlets including digital billboards, print publications, online advertising, social media advertising and event sponsorships.
Draft, write and/or edit all external communications going out from the Organization to members, partners and/or investors in specific initiatives within the organization.
Build and maintain solid relationships with leaders in the community to effectively understand current events and issues requiring Organization communication and/or support.
Write press releases, catalog, back cover and collateral copy.
Develop strong working knowledge of Metro business environment.
Produce high quality responses and presentations for leads, prospects and community education.
Attend all primary functions of the Organization including programs, after-hours receptions, breakfasts and serve as a public leader for the Organization with the leadership team.
Identify and drive “award” opportunities for the organization.
Continually implement processes to drive efficiency in all areas of the job.
