Overview: Columbus Springs East is seeking a creative and compassionate Activity Therapist to join its behavioral health team for a travel assignment. This role focuses on facilitating therapeutic activities that support the emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities:

Plan and lead group and individual therapeutic activities including art, music, recreation, and wellness sessions

Collaborate with clinical staff to align activities with treatment goals

Assess patient needs and adapt programming to support recovery and engagement

Document participation and progress in accordance with facility standards

Promote a safe, structured, and supportive environment for patients

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, psychology, social work, or related field (required)

Certification or licensure in therapeutic recreation or activity therapy (preferred)

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting

Strong communication, group facilitation, and organizational skills

Ability to engage diverse patient populations in meaningful therapeutic activities
