PCU Nursing Job Details
Job Title: PCU Float Pool Registered Nurse (Travel Assignment)
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 6, 2026
Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,940 - $1,990
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
Healthcare Setting: Float Pool – may float to any stepdown/PCU area, including Ross Heart, Brain & Spine, and Dodd campuses
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Stepdown RN experience
Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license required)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
EPIC charting experience required
Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, dysrhythmia interpretation, tracheostomy care, wound care
Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in progressive care and stepdown units
Float between various PCU and stepdown units, adapting to diverse patient populations
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage IVs, central lines, and advanced medical equipment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
Participate in rapid response/code teams and adhere to isolation precautions
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Support pre/post-procedural care and assist with special procedures
