Job Description

Title: Track and Field, Middle School Distance, Boys and Girls

Terms of Employment: Supplemental Contract

Reports to: Athletic Director

Qualifications:

Experience in the designated sport

Must Meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA including acquiring a pupil activity permit.

Prior coaching experience at the Middle School Level or above preferred

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise and instruct the middle school track and field team consisting of approximately 20-40 student athletes.

Conduct regular practices with the team.

Coach student athletes in a positive manner.

Ensure the safety of all student athletes during practices and competitions.

Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing skill levels under the supervision of the Head Coach.

Coordinates coaching methods and responsibilities with the Head Coach and other Assistant and Volunteer Coaches.

Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests. 15-20 hours per week is a typical time commitment for the coach.

Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.

Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Varsity Track and Field Coach

Working Conditions:

Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue

Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather

Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and read

Regular requirement to lift equipment, up to 50 pounds
