Serves as College Business Operations Manager for non-clinical operations, including fulfilling the role of Cost Center Manager responsible for managing the routine procurement, travel, and fiscal activities of the college and working closely with the Business and Finance Purchasing Service Center to approve and facilitate transactions and solve issues, including verifying worktags, funding sources, and budgets. Provides guidance and training related to these activities as well as financial procedures and policies for college personnel; possess strong decision-making skills and has the ability to guide others as a content expert as it relates to compliance, policies, and procedures for financial activities and day-to-day operations. Provides procurement, general ledger, and other financial reports; in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration, reviews and monitors all college funds and expenditures for appropriate use and resource allocation. Assists the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance in managing the budget forecast process in Work Day and Adaptive Planning.

Provides leadership and oversight of business activities to establish a financial and operational processing environment that ensures adherence to college and university policies and control structure. Oversees the general ledger, the preparation of unit financial reports, and performs financial analysis. Monitor/review status of funds and take action when needed. Assesses and analyzes business operations of university and/or colleges policies/procedures; advises Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance on impact of new or proposed University policies/procedures; develops and initiates new internal financial procedures, workflows, and methods; provides budget support to college administrators. Serves as OSU administrative systems access contact to determine user access; serves as college representative at various OSU meetings; represents the College of Optometry as liaison at various OSU meetings and departments including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Procurement Service Centers, Asset Management, and the University Controller.

Participates in college and University committees, including chairing the college’s Stewardship Committee. Prepares and analyzes financial reports and data from various sources; conveys and manages highly sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality. Oversees the monthly and yearly close and financial reconciliation processes. Lead college engagement with financial audits; maintains records and files in alignment with college procedures and university policies.

Provide leadership and oversight of the asset management process. Assists with communication mechanisms, including managing the College Business Office website; serving as supervisor to college's Procurement Manager. Provides coverage when needed for other Cost Center Managers and the Cost Center Director. Works under minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

4 years of relevant experience required

Knowledge of accounting principles and applications

Experience with organizational budgets, accounting systems, reporting and analysis

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products, especially Excel

Pay Range: $64,900 - $84,850

Salary will be based off of education, experience, internal equity, and budget allowance.
