Description Part-Time Medical Director Opportunity!

Omaha John Galt/Lincoln, NE Schedule - 17.5 Hours/ Week (Flexible within M-F from 7 am to 11:00 am) JOB SUMMARY The Physician/Medical Director serves at one or more BayMark Treatment Centers in the state designated by BayMark and accepted by Physician.

This individual provides patient care, medical evaluation, establishes medication levels, and interacts as necessary with Federal, state, county & other regulatory bodies.

The Physician trains & manages subordinate physician extenders and provides health care services directly to patients all under the direction and responsibility of the Regional VP, OTP.

Minimum Qualifications Board Eligible or Board Certified in Addiction Medicine1-year of addiction medicine experienceCurrent state licenses & DEA licensesAbility to prescribe methadone & BuprenorphineSatisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Patient Care Planning and supervising provision of treatment for patients (including regular review and notes in the patient’s record) according to established state guidelines with a strong emphasis on quality & customer service.Signs patient record notesOversees patient care provided by physician extender, signs charts, dosing levels, etc., when applicablePlaces patients into treatmentOversight of any patient site emergenciesExamines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, documents health history and examination results to meet Federal and state guidelines and refers patient for care elsewhere when indicated (including appropriate follow up)Initiates, alters and terminates replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols meeting the approval of Federal & state guidelines as well as current medical literature for patient careSupervises the administration and dispensing of medicationsConfers with patient’s private physician as neededExamines staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries as neededServes as a clinic in-service resource Provides patient education specific to various disease processes within our scope of practiceOversees the continuum of care process for patientsMaintains strict patient, employee, company and computer confidentiality Other Duties & Responsibilities (may include): Utilizes resources and materials in a safe and efficient mannerAttends clinic staff meetingsParticipates in in-service training and continuing education as necessary or required to safely and effectively perform jobConduct all business activities in a professional and ethical mannerRegular attendance is to be maintainedAdherence to a code of conduct conduct with BayMark Services policy is expectedInteract with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the Company’s mission Medical Director Initiates, alters and terminates replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols meeting the approval of Federal & state guidelines as well as current medical literature for patient careSupervises the administration and dispensing of medicationsConfers with patient’s private physician as neededExamines staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries as neededServes as a clinic in-service resourceProvides patient education specific to various disease processes within our scope of practiceOversees the continuum of care process for patientsMaintains strict patient, employee, company and computer confidentiality What to expect from us: BAART Programs a progressive substance abuse treatment organization is committed to the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting.
