About Us:
Based in Bromborough, Teledyne CML Composites is a fast growing manufacturer, supplying carbon/glass fibre composite parts and assemblies to some of the world’s leading aircraft and aero engine producers, including commercial, Defense and Business Jets.
The manufacturing facility houses some of the most advanced machining technology in Europe such as a multi axis NDT robotic machinery, automated material cutting machines and multi axis CNC machining centres. Job Purpose:
Working as the sites quality leader, this position is responsible for the management of all quality related functions across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Line management of the quality team, including inspection, compliance and engineers
Work closely with cross functional teams and ensure a culture of quality throughout the organisation
Creating and implementing quality standards to ensure that products meet customer expectations and regulatory compliance
Monitoring performance and compliance with quality standards, establishing KPI’s and reporting on same
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes
Recruit, support and develop quality control staff, ensuring they understand and apply quality procedures effectively
Lead compliance audits, internally and with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure that we maintain our accreditation
Adopt the Teledyne Business Operating System (BoS) to effectively and efficiently manage quality within our business
Ownership of the Quality Procedure Manual, company works procedures, contract reviews and quality management reviews
Play an active role in New Product Introduction (NPI)
Ensure all documentation is recorded and stored in line with company procedures & best practice.
Liaise with internal and external customers, including customer approvals
Ownership of stamps and scope of approvals. Working with the operations, engineering and quality teams.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Excellent understanding and demonstrable experience of aerospace quality systems and audit procedures is required.
Efficient use of MSExcel/MSWord is required.
Ability to liaise with customers technical teams is required.
Demonstratable aptitude for organising and problem solving.
An understanding of composite materials is desirable.
General understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
General understanding of Project Management principles and tools.

Actively contributes to risk assessments, safety policies and safe working practices.
Quality
Ensure all staff follow the company Quality Manual and Works Procedures
Shopfloor compliance of Drawings, SOPs and Work Instructions
Promote a right first time approach and zero defect culture across the shopfloor
Work with Production Staff and other departments to quickly and effectively resolve issues using root cause analysis techniques.
Cost
Stock control of consumables and raw materials in the department
Drive shopfloor efficiencies
Delivery
Define and manage Quality capacity.
Achieve the Production Schedule.
Manage priorities to support customer deliveries and financial targets.
People
Maintain Staff Training Records, Stamp Categories and Skills Matrix
Manage and set targets for supervisors
Motivate and encourage teams to achieve company targets
Manage Sickness & Absence and Time and Attendance in conjunction with HR to meet business expectations and targets
Carry out Return to Work interviews
Recruit staff as required in conjunction with HR
Support staff development through identification of skill gaps and promote multiskilling
Coach operators in driving performances and operational and technical excellence
Manage diciplinary and grievance processes when required
Continuous Improvement
Develop 5S/Lean processes throughout the Production Area.
Manage, implement and support CI projects with MRP data analysis
To ensure regular cleaning, equipment checks and TPM is completed.
Collaboration
Provide key Production inputs to business planning meetings to support financial targets.
Liaise with relevant departments as required.
Actively participates in projects to achieve company goals and implement solutions.
Contribute to and attend business meetings and manage associated actions.
