Description
The Sheet Metal Helper supports the HVAC installation team by assisting with the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC system components. This role involves physical labor, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety and quality standards on residential and commercial job sites.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling sheet metal ductwork and related components
Support the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, registers, and equipment
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites and work areas
Operate hand and power tools under supervision
Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Perform general labor and support tasks as directed by the Sheet Metal Foreman or lead installer
Help transport and position materials and tools during installation
Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable codes and specifications
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience in HVAC, sheet metal, or general construction is a plus, but not required
Basic knowledge of tools and measuring techniques
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record to travel to multiple job sites
Must own standard industry hand tools.

Work Conditions:
Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Exposure to dust, noise, and construction environments
Typical workweek is Monday-Thursday, with potential for overtime or weekend work based on project needs
Work Location:
We serve the entire Upstate of South Carolina and occasionally neighboring states. This role requires travel to job sites as needed, with no daily reporting to the main office in Laurens, SC

$16.00 - $24.00 per hour (depends on experience)
