Job Description

Job Title: Psychiatrist

Profession: Psychiatry

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in psychiatry

License: Certificate to practice medicine

Certifications: Completion of residency training program in psychiatry

Must-Have:

- Experience working with all ages (adults and children)

- Ability to travel to various facilities for service provision

Description:

Conduct evaluations, examinations, analysis, diagnosis, and treatment of consumers.

Prescribe medication and perform in-depth psychotherapy and counseling.

Monitor and coordinate professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care.

Review consumer records for accuracy and completeness.

Recommend improvements in staffing and organization.

Conduct and participate in lectures and seminars in psychiatry or related fields for professional and paraprofessional healthcare staff.

Possess knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology.

Skill in administering medication is essential.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Interpret extensive technical material in books, journals, and manuals.

Deal with many variables and determine specific courses of action.

Handle sensitive contacts with individuals under medical care.

Exposed to potentially dangerous patients and infectious diseases.

Travel to community sites may be required.

Biannual renewal of license with a requirement of 100 hours of continuing education is necessary for employment.
