Location: Columbus, OH

Type: 1099 Contractor

Duration: 3 Weeks

Compensation

Rate: $50–$52/hour

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Per Diem: Not available

Schedule

Hours: 40 hours/week

Schedule: Monday–Thursday (10-hour shifts)

Project Scope

This short-term role supports safety oversight during structural steel installation activities at a data center site. The Safety Manager will monitor crane operations, welding, and installation work while ensuring full compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety procedures.

Key focus areas include:

• Oversight of crane lifts and steel erection operations

• Daily monitoring of welding and hot work activities

• Conducting toolbox talks, orientations, and safety briefings

• Enforcing PPE compliance and site safety protocols

• Coordinating with field supervisors and project management to maintain safe operations

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting daily safety inspections and hazard assessments

• Leading site safety meetings and toolbox talks

• Monitoring crane and rigging operations for compliance and safe practices

• Maintaining safety documentation and inspection records

• Providing consistent on-site support to promote a strong safety culture

Qualifications

OSHA 510 Certification (required)

3–5 years of structural steel and crane experience

Strong knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards

Proven ability to communicate effectively with field teams

Demonstrated leadership in high-risk construction environments

Knowledge Base

Strong working knowledge of:

• Structural steel installation safety practices

• Crane operation safety and lift plan coordination

• Welding and hot work hazard prevention

• OSHA 29 CFR 1926 compliance and enforcement
