Position Summary

Reporting to the Campus Director of Admissions, RH and the Associate Director of Transfer Admission, the Transfer Admission Counselor is responsible for recruiting, reviewing and yielding transfer and spring first-year undergraduate students. This position is a member of a larger admission team, all of whom are responsible for conveying the mission and essence of the University experience to both students, parents, counselors, and other influencers.

The Transfer Admission Counselor manages a defined recruitment territory and manages projects and processes related to transfer admission.

The role requires independent travel for 4-6 weeks per admission cycle, as well as some evening and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Manages a transfer recruitment territory using qualitative and quantitative indicators, including relationship building, creativity in travel and recruitment strategies, independent management, volume, enrollment trends, and the effective use of time and fiscal resources.

Recruits prospective transfer and spring first-year students.

Develops and demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the University's mission, identity, academic programs, and admission process, and communicates this information effectively and consistently with diverse audiences.

Reviews and evaluates transfer and spring first-year admission applications in accordance with holistic review standards and established reading benchmarks.

Collaborates effectively with team members and across the University (community, students, family, and guidance community)to meet enrollment goals and support prospective students.

Participates in office-wide programs, special projects, and events, including open houses, admitted student days, and transfer-specific initiatives.

Attends and presents at local, regional, or national conferences.

Provides timely, professional, and personalized communication and customer service to prospective students, applicants, and families throughout the admission process.

Maintains accurate records of recruitment and evaluation activities within the admissions systems.

Represents the University at on-campus and off-campus events and fairs.

Engages in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in recruitment, communication, and data-informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree.

0-2 years of experience in Undergraduate Admission.

Valid Driver's License

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) in both individual interactions and large group presentations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Proven quantitative and analytical acumen, particularly in compressed time frames with a high volume of application activity.

Adept at public speaking.

Ability to travel locally, domestically, and internationally.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge in web-based and social media communication strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with transfer admission

Familiarity with Technolutions SLATE or similar admission CRM systems.

Possess skills to read and synthesize information within compressed time frames and for a high volume of application information.
