POSITION SUMMARY:
The Tool Room attendant is responsible for ordering, issuing, repairing and recording all tool room transactions and is responsible for securing Company tools plant wide.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBITIES:
• Maintains secure storage locations for various tools and manages access and records of location transactions.
• Supervises the main tool room and all related tool transactions.
• Maintains an inventory of all company tools to include stored and issued.
• New employee tool issue. Exiting employee tool return. Advises HR of tools that did not get returned on exiting employees.
• When issues tools to individuals, gains employee signature regarding tool care responsibility and use.
• For new tools, Stamps or engraves ALCOM. Marks employee name on tool. Records transactions.
• Replaces and issues broken tools and records transactions.
• Submits tools for warranty claims and repair.
• Reports weekly tool activity report.
• Repairs and issues welding leads and documents transactions to location and individual.
• Repairs all shop saws.
• Changes blades.
• Orders and maintains welding supplies and consumables.
• Creates and maintains asset numbers and records on all Shop Welding units.
DESIRED EDUCATION//EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum: hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools and repair.
• Stockroom, tool room and inventory experience desired.
• Previous experience working in an industrial environment is helpful.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must understand tool safety standards and assure that all tools meet compliance.
• Must understand simple inventory system to maintain tool control.
