Duke's is now looking for a Director, Information Technology to lead our IT department team and oversee all IT services across the organization nationwide. This role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for developing and executing an integrated IT strategy that aligns with the company business plan while ensuring operational excellence, innovation, and high-quality service delivery. This is an on-site position based at our company headquarters in Elgin, IL, working closely with cross-functional teams and directly influencing our technology strategy. Please note: this position is not remote or hybrid.
What You'll Do:
Reporting directly to the VP, Information Systems and Technology, you will be responsible for 4 key areas:
Strategic Planning -
Develop and implement an integrated IT strategy to support the business objectives
Translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable KPIs
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and deliver effective IT solutions
Contribute to business continuity and risk management planning
Recommend technology investments to support business growth Leadership & Communication -
Lead and inspire the IT team, aligning efforts with the company's mission, values, and strategic priorities
Communicate IT plans and progress to key stakeholders
Partner with the VP of Information Systems and Technology to identify risks and opportunities
Define and report on KPIs to measure IT performance and user satisfaction Operational Excellence -
Roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done from working on helpdesk tickets to leading new innovative technologies
Manage the IT budget in alignment with strategic goals
Develop and enforce IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Lead high-impact IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure delivery of high-quality IT services internally and externally
Maintain and upgrade hardware, software, and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
Oversee IT security implementation and service contracts People Management -
Foster a positive, high-performing team culture
Support the professional development of IT team members through coaching, mentoring, and training
Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure alignment with business objectives
Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in IT or related field
Have 10 - 15 years of information technology experience with 5 - 7 of those years being in a management role; 2 - 3 years at the director level preferred.
Have experience with large-scale ERP implementation
Have strong understanding of IT in service-based businesses
Have strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards
Have deep knowledge across a broad tech and cyber stack such as ERP Systems, Microsoft 365 / Office 365 Administration, Active Directory / Azure AD, Windows Server Administration (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc.), Network Infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, Switches, Routers), Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, etc.), Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Backup & Disaster Recovery Systems (Veeam, Datto, Acronis), Endpoint Management (Intune, SCCM, Jamf, etc.), Cybersecurity Tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR, MFA, MDM), Helpdesk & Ticketing Platform, and Collaboration Tools (Teams, SharePoint)
Are an effective communicator and able to build relationships and communicate clearly across all levels and locations from leadership to field crews
Are strategically agile and quick to recognize and respond to changing needs
Are results-oriented, confident in decision-making and committed to performance improvement
Are action-oriented and capable of resolving issues within appropriate timeframes
Have high standards - motivated to challenge and improve existing systems and solutions
Able and willing to travel up 10 - 15% of the time nationally as needed

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $135,000 annually, depending on experience
