Description:

The successful candidate will take ownership of group-wide financial reporting, audit coordination, statutory and regulatory submissions (SARS, NCR, FSCA, FIC, and CIPC), as well as cash flow management, business analytics, and the implementation of robust financial controls. This position requires a hands-on leader who can drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function while managing and developing a large team.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the finance functions of 9 group entities, including full accounting processes up to annual financial statements.

Lead annual audits, ensuring timely completion and accurate group consolidations.

Review monthly management accounts, journals, general ledgers, cashbooks, and payroll submissions.

Manage cash flows, funding requirements, and relationships with banks, ensuring financial sustainability and covenant compliance.

Oversee tax and statutory submissions, including income tax, provisional tax, VAT, DWT, and CIPC filings.

Ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies such as the NCR, FSCA, and FIC, and maintain the timely submission of required returns.

Implement and refine financial policies, procedures, and workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual processes.

Manage and develop a finance team of 15 employees, including performance management, training, and succession planning.

Oversee payroll, third-party collections, disbursements, and insurance reporting (bordereaux and quarterly submissions).

Provide analytical and strategic insights through business reporting and data-driven decision support.

Support special projects and ad hoc requests from senior management and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

BCom (Hons) in Accounting / equivalent Degree or Diploma (essential)

Registered Chartered Accountant (SA)

Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in a senior group finance or financial management role

Proficiency in Sage Intacct Accounting and Pastel Payroll & HR (2024)

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook)

Experience with group consolidations, audit management, and multi-entity reporting

Sound understanding of the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, National Credit Act, and Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act
