General Job Duties:
Perform quality CT exams, able to perform all procedures offered by department and copetent and willing to learn new. Perform actual scan times that are favorable with benchmark and team standard. Effective interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with patient, physician, patient's family, students, and other healthcare personnel. Perform QA. Help to ensure department is stocked accordingly and in compliance with standards.
Procedures: Neuro, Body, MSK, CTAs, IR procedures to include biopsies, ablations, drain removals, etc; 3D reformatts, colonography, enterography, urograms; trauma scans; dual energy understanding
Equipment Utilized:
GE equipment; 8 CT scanners, 4-256 slice, 3-64 slice, 1-16 slice; EPIC EMR, mckesson PACS; Bar Code Medication administration
Required Skills/ Minimum Years Experience:
Proficient with computers/computer systems to include basic navigation and use of email applications. Ability to communicate effectively and multi-task. Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriated. Level 1 trauma center experience preferred. Hospital experience preferred
Specific Licensures and Certification:
Current ARRT certification in computed tomography and radiolography. State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License required. Computed tomography certification and Basic Life support certifications preferred
Shift/Schedule Requirements:
Employee will not every work alone, always one other staff member there. Call is part of some of the shifts, it is 1 overnight every 9 week days (Monday-Friday) and 1 weekend every 13 weekends.
Floating:
Will be "floating" to other locations, but will still be within the CT department and under same manager
Bed size/Number of rooms for this unit/dept:
8 CT Scanners across campuses
Dress code:
Red scrubs; can be scrub top with Nebraska Medicine emblem sewn into it or red t-shirt with nebraska Medicine emblem on it
Unit/Department Specific Training:
6 week orientation for outside candidates to include various locations, assigned preceptor to ensure consistency with education and communication of protocols. IV line education as well as phone numbers, and department specific processes included in the process. Mid-point check at 3 weeks to gain an understanding of progress or areas that need more work.
