Child Respite Provider- Eau Claire, WI

We’re on the lookout for a caring, patient, and energetic Child Respite Provider to hang out with an awesome young boy with autism—whether at home or out exploring the community. This important role gives his parent/primary caregiver the chance to recharge while you make a difference and have some fun!

This amazing kiddo loves the great outdoors—think walks, bike rides, park adventures, and plenty of playtime in the sunshine. He’s a big fan of Hot Wheels, monster trucks, and the ever-exciting game of Bottle Flip! You’ll also notice he never goes anywhere without his trusty two backpacks, which carry his favorite treasures (including his beloved blanket!).

Location: Eau Claire, WI

Pay: Hourly rate: $14.13 per hour

Hours per week: 7 hours per week

Tasks:

· Constant supervision

· Companionship

· Provide motivation for the boy to be active

· Redirect behaviors when needed

· Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, toileting, meal prep, and community outings.

Skills:

· Compassionate and patient demeanor – possess the ability to remain calm

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Positive attitude, enthusiastic, engaging

· Excellent work ethic, including being punctual, reliable and trustworthy

Requirements:

· Valid Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, & auto insurance

· 10 or more years of experience working with autistic children.

· Willing to undergo and pass a background check
