Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Maintenance Tech to join our team and assist in providing daily maintenance requirements for this distinctive 240-unit portfolio. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to successfully provide all aspects of maintenance for historic properties. In addition to daily maintenance, renovation experience is highly desired. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive maintenance of historic apartment properties, ensuring they are well-maintained, and compliant with all regulations
Deliver a variety of skills including but not limited to light plumbing, electrical appliance repair, door hardware repair, carpentry and painting.
Operate and maintain heating, plumbing, and electrical systems
Perform routine preventative maintenance
Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
Ensure prompt and courteous response to resident needs and service requests
Respond to on-call emergency needs
Effectively communicate with residents to understand their maintenance needs
Deliver the necessary service to complete repairs that lead to resident satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
Familiarity with housing regulations and maintenance practices
Ability to handle physical workload
Deadline and detail oriented
Required Skills
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
Ability to handle crisis situations, problem solve, make decisions appropriately and quickly, as needed to ensure the well-being and safety of residents, staff and property.
Highly organized, dependable, and self-motivated
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must own car and possess a valid driver's license
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 annually, based on experience
Paid Time Off: Generous PTO policy
