As a General Ledger Senior Accountant supporting efforts for our brick-and-mortar schools, you will support the following areas:

Support all general ledger tasks including monthly close and journal entries for multiple legal entities and business units.

Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for multiple business units and keep supporting schedules of each and assess for reasonableness of ending balances.

Assist with revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and analysis for government provided funds and grants.

Provide support to the grant team and act as liaison between accounting and grant teams.

Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.

Identify possible efficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions.

Support various accounting projects.

Assist with training junior staff.

Assist with analyzing and validating financial statements.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

3-5 years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience or corporate accounting experience in a large company strongly preferred.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field

Fund Accountant or Government Accounting candidate preferred.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP

Knowledge of and proficiency in an ERP system

Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate with all levels.

Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with all levels

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to perform highly detailed work under tight deadlines and handle competing priorities.

Demonstrated history of problem solving

Superb ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting and system issues.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

The annual starting salary for this position is $80,000-$90,000 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. 19 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.

We offer several plans to choose from, with a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. We offer plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, as well as a high deductible plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage. We also offer flexible spending and health savings accounts.
