As an Assistant Teacher, youll work closely with the Lead Teacher to deliver a nurturing, safe, and educational classroom environment for infants or toddlers. Youll help implement play-based learning activities, manage classroom routines, and provide individualized attention that supports each childs social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily routines including circle time, story time, snack, outdoor play, and rest time
Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation based on childrens developmental needs and interests
Supervise children during classroom transitions, group play, and hands-on activities
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment aligned with state licensing regulations
Encourage independence, self-help skills, and social interaction through positive guidance strategies
Observe and document childrens behavior and milestones for communication with families and the teaching team
Provide age-appropriate support for infants or toddlersdepending on assigned classroom
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive, inclusive early childhood learning environmentQualifications
Previous experience in child care, preschool, daycare, or toddler education (preferred)
Understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to multitask, follow classroom structure, and adapt to childrens needs
High school diploma or GED required
CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses (preferred but not required)Make a Difference Every Day
