About the role

Objective and Reporting Lines

The job is responsible for managing the Finance Department, which involves a whole range of processes, from directing the day-to-day Finance and Accounting activities of the company, ensuring the fidelity of our financial transactions, enabling the production of reliable financial reports, ensuring compliance to tax regulations and other statutory financial requirements, handling and coordinating the requirements of the financial auditors and local revenue examiners, and proactively managing our financial resources in order to allow us to maximize their utilization. The job requires significant relevant experience and technical expertise on general accounting, financial reporting and taxation.

Reporting to Regional CFO, and Country CEO, and as a a member of AIG Thailand Executive Committee, the CFO is responsible for all aspects of Finance including controllership, FP&A, capital management, treasury, tax and investments in addition to contributing to projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Acting as a business partner to the CEO and other senior members of management, assist in developing and driving achievement of strategic plans.

Leading and submitting all budgets and forecasts for group reporting and statutory purposes in a timely manner.

Timely and consistent submission of quarterly and annual financial reports for group reporting and regulatory submissions, and coordination of annual audits.

Own the local accounting books and records and the related financial controls.

Capital management in compliance with local solvency requirements and internal group guidelines.

Control activities such as taxation & planning, cash flow and investment policy & strategy, costing and expense control, and treasury related activities including maintaining relationships with the organization’s bankers.

Get involved with ad hoc projects – M&A, pricing, market intelligence, Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Make policy decisions and accept responsibility for operations, performance of staff, achievement of targets and adherence to budgets, standards and procedures.

Control the selection and training of finance staff, establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities to subordinate staff.

Lead the implementation of IFRS 17 for AIG Thailand, including integration with the global IFRS 17 platform.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor and/or Masters Degree in Finance and/or Accounting. Professional qualification, CPA or ACCA is preferred.

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including, Thai GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.

Proven and strong experience in an insurance environment.

Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

Ability to analyze financial data and financial reports, statement, and projections.

Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timelines.

Strong communication skill, leadership skill, interpersonal skill, problem solving.

A minimum of Ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.

Thai, English and Computer literacy skills preferred.
