LOCATION: Portsmouth (60% of your working week must be office based)

We are looking for a Safety Engineer to focus on Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance within our System Safety team in Portsmouth. You will be working on multiple projects for both UK and overseas customers,at all stages of the lifecycle and in multiple domains (Land, Sea, Air) some spanning several years and others decades. This exciting and varied role will suit someone who is familiar with the Safety and Environmental requirements of UK MOD who wishes to expand their knowledge and expertise in design and operational Safety and Environmental Management within a Systems Engineering environment.

How will you contribute to the team…

Development and maintenance of Safety and Environmental Management Plans, Safety and Environmental Cases in accordance with UK MOD Safety and Environmental processes and procedures.

Coordinate and chair Project Safety and Environmental Committee meetings and support Project reviews including the costing/scheduling of Safety and Environmental work packages

Ensure all business, regulatory and customer requirements are identified and appropriate compliance evidence is available including supporting the development and delivery of technical files and EU/UK Declarations of Conformity.

Lead and manage to resolve Safety, Environmental and Product Regulatory compliance issues and produce deliverable documentation in line with project timescales

Undertake and facilitate required Safety and Environmental analysis (PHI, PHA)using appropriate techniques.

About you…

Knowledge and experience of Safety and Environmental Product Regulatory Compliance legislation.

Good knowledge and experience of Safety Management Systems.

Current or previous experience of UK MOD Safety and Environmental Management processes : Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-051, ASEMS, POSMS, POEMS
